Determine Your Approach

You want to take a break from your business and recharge? It's essential to run your webshop properly during this period to avoid customer dissatisfaction.

Whether you want to suspend order placement temporarily or continue accepting orders with delayed fulfillment, the following steps will help you manage your webshop effectively during the holidays. In both cases, it is important to communicate this clearly with your customers.

Option 1: Close your webshop temporary

1. Disable the Shopping Cart

To prevent new orders from being placed on your website, you can easily disable the shopping cart functionality in Webshop > Webshop settings > Enable shopping cart. By doing this, customers will be unable to add products to their cart and proceed with making purchases during the holiday period.

2. Inform your customers

It's essential to keep your customers informed about the temporary closing of your webshop during your holidays. You can do so by displaying the period during which your webshop will be closed at the top of your website.

One effective way to do this is by using the top bar that appears at the top of every page. This way, customers will be aware of it before they attempt to place an order.

Option 2: Continue accepting orders during the holiday

1. Inform your customers

If you choose to allow customers to place orders, make sure to communicate clearly that the orders will be fulfilled once you return from holidays.

Utilize the top bar to inform customers about the processing and shipping times for orders placed during the holiday period. Let them know that due to your holidays, there will be a delay in order fulfillment. You can provide an estimated timeframe for when they can expect their orders to be shipped.

2. Fulfill the orders after the holidays

Once you get back, you will be able to process orders received during your absence as usual.

Enjoy your holidays!
